Social Impact Initiatives

Programs that revitalize ecosystems, strengthen green spaces, and foster economic opportunities.

Social Impact - Wildlife Habitat Council

We develop and manage initiatives in the U.S., Latin America, Jordan and Morocco that support people and nature. We work with corporate members, local and national governments, community leaders and other NGOs. We specialize in natural and degraded habitat restoration, urban and community forestry, and economic development programs focused on the environment.

Initiatives Around the Globe

We have developed and implemented social impact initiatives in the U.S., 10 Latin American countries, Morocco and Jordan.

Enhancing Local Communities and Biodiversity with Nature-based Solutions

Tandem Global leverages state and federal funding to empower private sector investment in Nature-based Solutions to prevent air and water pollution and enhance community green spaces through the following services:

  • Forest biodiversity restoration and management
  • Habitat restoration and management
  • Ecological land reclamation (degraded or contaminated sites)
  • Green infrastructure design and installation

Community-based conservation projects provide biodiversity uplift, ecosystem services and resident empowerment. All Tandem Global engagements consider community needs to be paramount, with a special consideration to address canopy inequities.

Implementing Solutions for Sustainable Development

Tandem Global collaborates with businesses, governments, academic institutions, and NGOs around the world to advance sustainable development. We provide technical, educational, and project management training, and other services to help industry, governments, and stakeholders achieve concrete business and societal value. Current and recent work has focused on the following:

Empower Innovation Challenge (EIC)
Assists women-owned micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in scaling their businesses through a series of small grants focused on local solutions. With a focus in green and blue economies, the EIC partnership will provide training, access to capital, networking, and partnership opportunities with businesses.

Environmental Governance
The US State Department funded this program to promote environmental governance though improved practices and technologies. The initiative aims to strengthen environmental governance that will lead to the adoption of improved environmental practices, technologies, and services, particularly in addressing air pollution, and water and waste management.

Creating Sustainable Value Chains
With funding from the Walmart Foundation, Tandem Global developed an innovative program to provide integral capacity building and market linkages solutions for small and marginalized farmers, and MSMEs to strengthen their capacity and facilitate their market access.
